Maintenance Mech I – Mold Set Up

Join Amcor as a Maintenance Technician focused on setting up molds and ensuring production meets specifications.

Primary Purpose

This position is responsible for setting up molds, cycling into specifications, maintaining safe operations, and ensuring acceptable quality and production requirements are met.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Abide by all Amcor’s Safety and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Thoroughly familiar with hand tools and maintenance practices.
  • Set up molds and cycle into specifications.
  • Understand various materials, mixing, color blending, and cycle processes.
  • Explain why different materials require different cycles.
  • Identify and distinguish various defects and dimensions.
  • Knowledgeable of hydraulic and electrical systems of machines.
  • Troubleshoot minor problems and make adjustments to bring machines into specification.
  • Properly shut down and start up machines.
  • Train and assist other technicians to perform work.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
  • Assist other job classifications and perform support work, as assigned.
  • Assist in the training of other maintenance and production personnel in areas of expertise.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some post‑secondary education preferred (technical or vocational).
  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Other Requirements
  • Strong mathematical ability; recognize and understand numbers and values, and enter data accurately into an online database.
  • Proficient hand/eye coordination to operate equipment.
  • Ability to make priority decisions and exercise independent judgment based on situation.
  • Computer proficiency and related software efficiency.
  • Work all shifts and required overtime.
  • Own general mechanics tools per Amcor’s Basic Tool Requirement List.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods; breaks are the only time to sit.
  • Occasionally lift 75 lbs.
  • Lifting, bending, and twisting repetitively during shifts.
  • Coordinate movements quickly and accurately in a high‑output production area.
  • Work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑quality manufacturing environment.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and guidelines; use required personal protective equipment.
  • Perform good housekeeping assignments.
  • Able to organize and maintain maintenance areas and stock rooms.
Pay Transparency

The pay range for this position is determined based on experience, qualifications, certifications, skills, education, and other factors. The current entry pay is $28.70 per hour.
