Associate Manager​/Manager, Lab Operations

Job Summary:

Manage a team of laboratory professionals and oversee testing activities in accordance with applicable clinical laboratory regulations. Provide technical leadership, develop staff, manage resources, and improve laboratory quality, safety, and operational performance.

What You'll Be Doing:

Manage the daily activities of assigned laboratory work groups through effective delegation, technical training, and supervision

Plan, prioritize, and assign laboratory work based on testing requirements and available resources

Hire, train, coach, develop, and evaluate laboratory staff

Provide technical leadership and resolve complex laboratory and instrumentation challenges

Develop and revise standard operating procedures to meet operational and regulatory requirements

Manage budgets, laboratory supplies, inventory, instrumentation, and staffing needs

Lead quality and safety investigations, root cause analyses, and the resolution of CAPA and quality incidents

Monitor operational metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality and efficiency

What We Are Looking For :

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Some CAP/CLIA laboratory locations may require a Bachelor of Science in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology, or cytotechnology

Typically requires 5 years experience in regulated environment

Strong understanding of laboratory operations and methods, including study setup and cross-functional or system dependencies

In-depth knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and applicable laboratory testing regulations

Working knowledge of quality assurance and quality control principles and in-depth knowledge of company-specific program requirements

Applicable certifications and licenses as required by local regulations

Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients

Knowledge of occupational safety and health rules and regulations
