NICU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Ithaca, NY 14850 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Setting: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) – Maternal Child Health Department
• Employment Type: Travel RN Contract
• Start Date: June 23, 2025
• End Date: September 22, 2025
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100-$2250

NICU RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State (NYS)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience; NICU or Maternal Child Health experience strongly preferred
• Associate of Applied Science in Nursing or higher degree
• BLS certification required upon hire
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required within 6 months of hire
• Ability to perform light lifting and repetitive hand/finger movements
• Capable of sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods and operating clinical equipment

NICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to neonates and maternal child health patients in the NICU
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Perform patient observation, data collection, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Address patients’ physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs
• Adhere to nursing standards and scope of practice (AWONN, ACOG, NNA, AORN)
