Salary Range: The full pay range for this role is $22.00 - $37.00 per hour. The target range for this position is $24.00 to $32 per hour. We generally base our salary decisions on factors such as internal equity, candidate work and/leadership experience, educational credentials, and in some cases, candidate work location.
Scope of Job: Under specific direction from the site manager and supervision of an experienced technician, this position will assist experienced technicians with conducting maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair of wind turbines and/or photovoltaic power and energy storage systems. Work location: Ivanhoe, Minnesota.
Required Training: Each Renewable Energy Technician will attend mandatory five (5) week training and certification course at the start of their employment. The exact duration will be determined based on experience and qualifications. The training is in Albert Lea, MN, and travel, accommodation, and expenses will be provided.
ResponsibilitiesCore Responsibilities Overview:
While both roles focus on the safe and efficient operation of renewable assets, your level of responsibility and autonomy will differ based on the position you qualify for.
Technician 1:
- Primary Focus: Assists experienced technicians with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. Focuses on learning and applying safety protocols.
- On-the-Job Autonomy: Works under specific direction and direct supervision.
Technician 2:
- Primary Focus: Performs preventative maintenance independently and conducts troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades.
- On-the-Job Autonomy: Responsible for independent preventative maintenance and participates in the 24‑hour "On Call" rotation.
Shared Responsibilities (Applicable to Both Roles):
- Maintain company property and equipment safely.
- Complete daily work orders, time tracking, and administrative documentation.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures.
- Attend all required safety and technical training.
Renewable Energy Technician 1 (Entry‑Level):
- Experience: 0 to 2 years in the renewable energy sector or an equivalent field.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Knowledge/
Skills:
Basic computer knowledge and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Knowledge of electronics/mechanical components is a plus. - Certification: Ability to successfully complete all required safety and technical training upon hire.
- Other: Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Renewable Energy Technician 2 (Experienced):
- Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience in renewable energy or a similar discipline.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Knowledge/
Skills:
