Strong experience with C# development
Experience with .NET Framework and .NET Core
Experience with Win Forms or desktop application development
Experience with MS SQL Server
Experience with refactoring and modernisation projects
Experience working in agile environments
Experience with CI/CD practices
Testing experience, with TDD as a bonus
Exposure to cloud platforms, with AWS preferred
Desirable: experience migrating legacy systems
Desirable: exposure to React or Java Script
Desirable: experience introducing testing, deployment improvements, or modern engineering practices into existing systems
Desirable: AI exposure or Python knowledge

Responsibilities

Work closely with the CTO, Head of Engineering, and the original software author to understand and evolve a complex application
Improve and progressively enhance an established C# .NET Win Forms desktop codebase
Help transition a large-scale legacy platform from an on-premise desktop environment to a modern .NET Core, cloud-based architecture
Contribute to the technical direction of a major systems transformation programme
Collaborate with stakeholders, challenge ideas constructively, and support knowledge sharing and planning workshops
Participate in a friendly, collaborative engineering team and contribute to ongoing platform improvements
