POSITION: GRADUATE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

The RoleAs a Graduate Structural Engineer, you will assist with the delivery of a wide variety of structural engineering projects ranging from residential and commercial buildings to industrial, marine and historic structures.
Whilst the role is primarily structural engineering, you will also gain valuable exposure to our civil, geotechnical and coastal engineering teams, providing experience across a range of disciplines that many larger consultancies are unable to offer.
Responsibilities- Assisting with the analysis and design of steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry structures.
- Preparing structural calculations, technical reports and design information under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Producing and reviewing engineering drawings using AutoCAD and other design software.
- Undertaking structural inspections, condition surveys and site investigations.
- Visiting construction sites to monitor progress, observe construction techniques and assist with technical queries.
- Working alongside our Civil, Geotechnical and Coastal Engineering teams on multidisciplinary projects.
- Assisting in the preparation of fee proposals and tender submissions.
- Liaising with architects, contractors, clients, local authorities and other members of the design team.
- Developing practical engineering solutions that are technically robust, buildable and deliver value for our clients.
To be considered for this role you should have:
- A BEng or MEng degree in Civil Engineering.
- A strong interest in structural engineering and a desire to develop a practical understanding of construction.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Competence using Microsoft Office.
- Experience using AutoCAD, Master Series, SCIA Engineer or similar structural analysis software would be beneficial, although training will be provided.
- A full UK driving licence, or be working towards obtaining one.
