HVAC Design Engineer
Location:
Kocaeli, TR
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the automotive industry.
- Knowledge of automotive HVAC architectures (cabin heating, air conditioning and refrigerant loop systems, battery thermal management system, demist/defrost systems, air distribution and airflow management, etc.).
- Experience in HVAC validation and vehicle level testing.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD design tools, preferably CATIA.
- Experience with 1D simulation tools for thermal and fluid flow analysis (preferred).
- Experience with Matlab and Simulink (preferred).
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
- Experience in component sizing and system performance optimization for HVAC systems.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack‑up, and technical drawing standards.
- Solid knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes (casting, machining, plastics, sheet metal, heat exchangers, etc.).
- Familiarity with FEA/CAE analysis tools (preferred).
- Experience with product development methodologies (APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, etc.).
- Ability to prepare and review technical documentation in English.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving skills, and team‑oriented mindset.
- Previous involvement in global OEM projects.
- Strong proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Open to frequent domestic and international travel.
- Lead the design and development of vehicle HVAC systems from concept phase through serial production (heating, cooling, battery thermal management system, windshield defrost/demist system).
- Define and develop thermal management strategies for both internal combustion and electric vehicles.
- Perform 1D thermal and fluid flow simulations to analyze and optimize HVAC system performance.
- Develop battery thermal management solutions for electric vehicles.
- Prepare technical specifications, validation plans, and design documentation.
- Ensure technical requirements are properly integrated into designs.
- Support prototype build, vehicle integration, and validation testing activities.
- Work closely with suppliers during component development, design reviews, and technical evaluations.
- Drive cost optimization, design improvements, and technical problem‑solving activities.
- Work cross‑functionally with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and project teams.
