Overview
PVT Vehicle Team Member is an energetic/ambitious team member who works in collaboration with various departments to aim for on-time delivery and expected quality.
Responsibilities- Work with PVT Leader and VRT Champions to improve quality of the systems they are responsible for.
- Product Development activities of launch and subsequent serial production Vehicle Engineering activities.
- Analyze warranty issues.
- Coordinate resolution of vehicle quality issues by liaising with relevant teams.
- Identify the best design solution for design quality issues by liaising with Core Engineering teams.
- Support Variability Reduction Team meetings and lead weekly VFG (Vehicle Function Group) meetings to define and execute required Quality Improvement Studies. Support other Quality platforms if required.
- Drive engineering concerns through change management process.
- Act as member of Variability Reduction Team and lead vehicle engineering roles.
- Raise and track projects through Balanced Single Agenda for Quality system.
- Resolve Fresh Eyes Review and AIMS issues.
- Use Six Sigma tools and processes for resolution of complex problems.
- Correct Production vehicles Bill of Material and Service parts record.
- Assess Alert and SREA requests.
- Support lead and sister vehicle plants in resolving manufacturability issues.
- Ensure and facilitate appropriate communications with internal/external activities/areas.
- Operate according to Ford Quality System, including all procedures, reference sources, local procedures, local working practices and best practice engineering and quality tools/processes.
- Mechanical, Automotive or Mechatronics Engineering background (preferred).
- Good analytical thinking and a good understanding of quality systems.
- Having automotive experience or interest in automotive is an advantage.
BSc Degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Mechatronics Engineering.
Behavioral Skills and Competencies- Self‑motivated to adopt and sustain Dynamic Balance Culture in daily work.
- Knowledge of engineering and quality systems and tools.
- Knowledge of vehicle architecture and attributes.
- Competent in communication and presentation skills (oral and written).
- Good teamwork and problem‑solving skills.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Ability to operate across different nationalities/cultures/time zones with good planning skills.
- Experience and ability to lead a group through issues and manage projects.
- Preferably knowledge & experience of major Ford processes from different business units (PD, Manufacturing, Purchasing, STA, MP&L).
- Driving licence and proficiency in driving.
- Benchmarking skills.
