As a Senior Design & Release Engineer – Exterior/Interior Trim, you will be responsible for engineering design, development, and release activities for Exterior and Interior Trim components.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carry out engineering design, development, and release activities for Exterior and Interior Trim components.
• Perform CAD design and development considering functional, styling, cost, quality, weight, and manufacturing requirements.
• Develop feasible and robust design solutions in collaboration with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Evaluate supplier feedback related to DFM, Moldflow, tooling, and manufacturing feasibility, and incorporate appropriate design solutions.
• Apply knowledge of relevant materials and manufacturing processes used in Exterior and Interior Trim.
• Apply GD&T and dimensional tolerancing principles to support functional and manufacturable designs.
• Prepare and maintain engineering and release documentation, including BOMs, 2D drawings, FMEA, and DV Planning, in accordance with customer and EDAG standards.
• Participate in design reviews, supplier discussions, and launch activities, supporting issue resolution and timely delivery of engineering activities.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in automotive product development, preferably within an OEM, Tier 1 supplier, or Engineering Service Provider.
• Fluent in English; German language skills are a strong asset.
• Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and international project environment.

Candidates are expected to have knowledge and/or hands‑on experience in several of the following areas:

• Hands‑on experience in the design and development of Exterior and/or Interior Trim components. Experience in BIW and/or Closures is also valued.
• Advanced proficiency in CATIA V5 or Siemens NX.
• Good knowledge of relevant materials and manufacturing processes, with hands‑on experience in areas such as plastics, composites, carbon fiber, glazing, SMS, soft trim, or injection molding.
• Practical understanding of DFM, manufacturing feasibility, tooling, and Moldflow results.
• Good knowledge of GD&T and dimensional tolerancing.
