Equipment Operator is responsible for controlling and maintaining heavy machinery and equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency on construction sites.
We have 10 open Equipment Operators positions, with 2 roles available in each city:
- Jackson, MI
- Grand Rapids, MI
- Paw Paw, MI
- Lansing, MI

Job Duties and Responsibilities- Ability to safely, accurately, and efficiently help operate various pieces of heavy equipment.
- Perform Routine Maintenance:
Clean up around the job site and surrounding area. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on machinery to ensure it is in safe working conditions. Lubricate and perform general maintenance. - Follow Safety Protocols:
Ability to follow directions. Adhere to all safety regulations and workplace standards to minimize risks and ensure and promote a safe working environment. Obeying and following all applicable traffic laws, rules, and regulations. Actively participate in weekly safety meetings (Tool Box Talks) - Load and Unload Materials:
Assist in loading and unloading materials or equipment as required. - Report Issues:
Promptly report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, and any incidents to supervisors. Reporting any defects, accidents, or violations. - Collaborate with Team Members:
Work closely with other crew members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule. Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Report to the assigned job site in proper work attire ready to begin work at the designated start time.
- Individuals are required to wear PPE, steel-toed footwear, safety glasses
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Previous experience helping operate or working around heavy equipment
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- CDL preferred
- The ability to pass pre-employment screening and testing
- Strict Adherence to safety requirements, procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) policies
The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met in Construction Operations to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Work is performed outdoors, on a job site, in extreme weather conditions and for extended hours.
- Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, dirt, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction project.
- Employee regularly works with or near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
- Work may involve a variety of substances or materials commonly found on construction sites such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel, asphalt and concrete.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, frequently walks on uneven surfaces, including natural ground and slopes, in varying weather conditions, and is regularly exposed to wet, humid condition airborne particles, and extreme heat or cold.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet but may require protective equipment at some facilities.
