Description

Teach courses in Criminal Justice based on instructor's qualifications.

Essential Functions
  • Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments and papers.
  • Prepare and deliver instructional materials (i.e. syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts) in person and/or on-line.
  • Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
  • Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
  • Participate in required reporting processes (i.e. grades, participation, etc.).
  • Assist students in connecting to college resources.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree or higher in Criminal Justice or Juris Doctor and licensed member of the bar or
  • Bachelor Degree and 5 years of experience in criminal justice
  • Bachelor degree, employed for the equivalent of 2 years in a position directly involved with the custody, care and control of the following groups: incarcerated felons or misdemeanants, probationary felons or misdemeanants, paroled felons and incarcerated juvenile offenders.

Adjunct instructors are not employed directly by Jackson College except those receiving a pension from the Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System. Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.
