Under the leadership of the Director of Training and Outreach, provide training to organizational staff, board members and/or participants on a broad range of topics to further the work of the Agency to become Trauma Informed; to operationalize the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy of the organization; and to empower program participants to be the first and best advocate for their child(ren).
- Work with the Director of Training & Outreach to carry out the training in the Annual Training Calendar in order to increase the capacity of Agency staff and Board Members in a multitude of topics including, but not limited to, Trauma Smart, ACEs, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Head Start Standards, and Resilience.
- Provide training for Head Start and Early Head Start staff and parents on topics including resilience, parenting, conflict resolution, etc.
- Utilize available tools and/or create tools with the Director to evaluate outcomes of training and modify trainings as necessary to increase learning.
- Continued learning to increase training capacity for the organization, participants and community.
- Keep client data updated in Agency databases including but not limited to DBA Facs Pro and Child Plus.
- Perform all other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Education:
Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in human services or related field preferred. - Training: ACEs Master Trainer preferred but not required.
- Certification:
Must obtain necessary and relevant training certifications. - Work Experience:
One to two years’ experience in providing training formally or informally. - Transportation:
Must possess reliable transportation. - Basic Skills:
Presentation and communication skills. Must be able to present complex information in understandable format for a variety of learning styles. Must be comfortable with public speaking. - Physical and Mental Capabilities:
High level of mental concentration is required. - Problem Solving, Decision Making and Interpersonal
Skills:
Ability to establish a natural rapport and be sensitive to the needs of varying socio-economic groups. Promote teamwork and participate as a team member with other agency staff and as part of interagency teams. - Other Hiring Contingencies:
Will be required to pass a criminal background check after hiring offer and may be required to have a physical and TB test after hiring offer is made.
