Senior Civil Engineer

Position Summary

The Senior Civil Engineer provides civil engineering leadership for natural gas capital projects, including gas distribution and transmission systems, city gate and regulator stations, compression facilities, and storage facilities. This role resides within the Civil Engineering group and supports capital upgrade and expansion projects.

The Senior Civil Engineer works as part of multidisciplinary project teams that include project engineers, project managers, operations personnel, and other stakeholders. The individual will support multiple projects simultaneously, with varying levels of involvement throughout each project’s lifecycle.

• Identify and define the civil engineering design and construction scope required to successfully complete assigned projects
• Contract and manage external engineering services to execute defined scopes of work
• Provide engineering review, technical oversight, and leadership for civil design activities
• Support the Project Manager in contracting construction services, including bid reviews and contractor selection
• Support construction activities by responding to technical questions, reviewing field conditions, and performing quality inspections
• Complete project closeout activities, including record drawings, test documentation, and final deliverables
• Regularly communicate project status, risks, and concerns related to scope, quality, cost, and schedule to management

• Ability to work safely in heavy industrial environments common to natural gas facilities
• Comfortable working in loud, hot, oily, and outdoor conditions
• Ability to climb stairs and fixed ladders to elevated platforms
• Ability to enter and work in confined or tight spaces (e.g., access hatches)
• Ability to walk uneven terrain and active construction sites
