Position Title: Welder
Department/Reporting: Pit Products, BSR, Heavy Assembly — Supervised by Welding Manager
Status: Full time non-exempt
Essential Job Functions- Set up and use MIG/TIG welding equipment to weld basic GTAW and GMAW mild steel joints
- Assemble exhaust assemblies, racks, and prototyping fixtures
- Perform 1st piece table layouts and troubleshoot builds using CMM reports to achieve a good first piece
- Maintain job documentation
- Load and run robot welder in auto and make needed repairs on assemblies after robot
- Investigate and correct issues that are found during a build and/or inspection of an assembly
- Ensure that products shipped meet internal and customer requirements per CMM reports, blueprints, and AWS specifications
- Other duties as assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to manufacturing processes that include and are not limited to: fumes or airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, moving mechanical parts, industrial equipment, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma or GED, vocational training
Credentials/Licensure: AWS Certification, forklift license preferred
Minimum Experience: 1-2 years welding experience in an industrial setting
Position Type and Expected HoursThis is a full-time non-exempt position with a minimum of 40 hrs per week with overtime as needed.
Note:
days and hours required may vary. Shifts include 1st, 7:00a – 3:30p M-F; 2nd, 3:30p – 2:00a, M-TH; and Weekend Days 5:00a – 5:30p F-Sun. Shift premiums are available.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic problem solving skills
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T notation
- Ability to use hand and layout/inspection tools
Travel: No travel is required for this position.
