Position OverviewHenry Ford Health – Jackson is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Hematology/Oncology team as a replacement position. This fast-paced, patient-focused department provides comprehensive assessment, work-up, care, and treatment for hematology and oncology patients, including chemotherapy education and management, survivorship care, office visits, and inpatient consults. APPs typically see an average of 2–10 clinic patients per day
, with new patient volumes and inpatient consults varying daily
. Responsibilities include chemotherapy informational visits, infusion-reaction management, in-basket management, video visits, Tumor Board summaries, inpatient follow-up visits, admissions, and discharge summaries. Bone marrow biopsy skills are preferred; training is available for candidates needing additional experience. Weekend coverage may be required in the future.
Our team includes 13 providers, 45 clinical team members, and 20 clerical staff supporting care across our office, infusion center, and inpatient settings. Candidates should demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong professional communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a large multidisciplinary team. Prior Hematology/Oncology experience and EPIC proficiency are preferred, though new graduates are welcome to apply

The Specialty/Invasive Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The Specialty/Invasive NP will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families. Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently.
Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience. Works in one of the following departments:
Cardiovascular Medicine, Emergency Medicine, ICU, Interventional Radiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Surgery, Urgent Care, Urology. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
Master's degree in nursing. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES
REQUIRED:
Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Current State license as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS. Current ACLS/ATLS/PALS provider status as required by department.
- NP – Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)
- PA – Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
- NP – Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan
- PA – Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application)
- National certification as an NP or PA (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- DEA/CSL, required through credentialing.
