Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant (full-time) – Henry Ford Health Jackson

Location: Jackson, MI

Inpatient/Outpatient: 40% Inpatient, 60% Outpatient

Case Load: 100% Adult

Henry Ford Health – Jackson is seeking a full-time NP or PA to join our Gastroenterology team in a replacement position. This fast‑paced, patient‑centered department provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal and hepatology conditions in both the outpatient and inpatient settings.

• Participate in clinic visits and inpatient consults (typical clinic volumes: 2–10 patients per day)
• New and follow‑up patient visits, inpatient consults and daily rounding
• Coordinate diagnostic testing and procedures
• Manage in‑basket, video visits, admissions, and discharge planning
• Collaborate closely with gastroenterologists to manage chronic GI conditions, acute presentations, and post‑procedural follow‑up
• Weekend coverage may be required in the future

Full‑time, 40 hours per week. Rotation of inpatient and outpatient days with 3–4 other APPs, shifts of 8–10–12 hours. Typically 6 inpatient days and 10 outpatient days each month.

• NP or PA license in Michigan
• Certification by a recognized body (ANCC, AANP, NCCPA)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
• Controlled Substance License is required for PAs; NPs do not have this requirement
• EPIC proficiency preferred (new graduates encouraged to apply)
• GI background preferred;
  Family Medicine background preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment
