Tigg's Canteen Services is seeking a dependable, motivated, and team-oriented Permanent Full-Time Lead Cook to join our team at the Jackson County Jail in Jackson, MI.
We are looking for someone who demonstrates integrity, maintains a positive attitude, takes pride in their work, and is comfortable working in a structured correctional environment. As a Lead Cook, you will help oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure meals are prepared and served according to company standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading, directing, and assisting inmates with kitchen duties
- Preparing, cooking, and baking meals according to company recipes
- Assisting with daily meal preparation and food service operations
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
- Following company policies, food safety standards, and facility procedures
- Supporting the kitchen team to ensure meals are prepared efficiently and on schedule
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work effectively in a structured correctional environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Availability to work weekends and holidays
- Flexibility to work varying shifts between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM
- Ability to follow company recipes, policies, and procedures
- Must successfully obtain clearance to work within the facility
Previous food service or kitchen experience is preferred but not required.
