Locate Technicians are responsible for accurately locating underground facilities, including telephone, electric power, cable television, gas, fiber optic, water, and sewer lines. The position ensures compliance with client and state requirements. Responsibilities include observing, locating, marking, and documenting underground and exposed utility locations. Technicians use multiple methods and may work independently or in a team under a supervisor. The role requires focus, skill, and the use of machinery and/or tools.

• Locate underground facilities using transmitters and other equipment.
• Work in varied terrain and weather conditions.
• Interpret job orders, blueprints, and maps to route efficiently.
• Perform on‑call locates during regular, overtime, and holiday hours as needed.
• Communicate with customers, contractors, and utilities to ensure a damage‑free environment.
• Maintain professional and efficient work standards.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• State issued driver’s license.
• Ability to problem‑solve and interpret multiple prints.
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs and walk/stand for multiple hours.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Pass a background screening (no violations within the last 5 years) and a DOT drug test.
