Amerhart is currently hiring for Material Handlers at our Jackson, MI facility. The primary responsibility is to perform all duties associated with shipping, receiving, and stocking warehouse material. As a member of the Operations team, you should be willing to help teammates as needed, treat everyone with respect, and perform work safely in accordance with company policies and safety procedures.

• Unload common carrier trucks and railroad cars, replenishing product in the designated locations in the warehouse.
• Pick orders using a forklift until the order is completely filled.
• Report any problems such as shortages or damaged material, and inquire with the sales team member when orders cannot be shipped as ordered, making changes as directed by sales.
• Use handheld scanner when receiving product, picking orders, loading trucks and cycle counting in accordance with Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes.
• Collaborate with Warehouse Management System (WMS) Coordinator on questions and updates.
• Band, wrap, and prepare material for safe shipping.
• Arrange orders on trucks according to safe weight distribution practices.
• Follow safety procedures and policies when performing warehouse duties.

• Fill orders for incoming customers.
• Perform routine maintenance work such as cleaning warehouses/yard.
• Inspect the forklift prior to daily operation to avoid equipment problems and malfunctions in accordance with OSHA regulations.
• Cross‑train and back‑up others in the warehouse.

• Strong initiative, self‑starter with a continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a cross‑functional team environment.
• Working knowledge and techniques associated with organizing and setting priorities.

• High School Diploma.
• 1‑2 years of warehouse experience required; some experience in a distributorship preferred.
• Neat and clean appearance.
• Proven ability to work as a member of a team.
