About the PositionThis position is located at the Addie McBride Rehabilitation Center (AMRC) on the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s campus in Jackson, MS and works in the agency’s Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind (VRB) program. This position performs a variety of important administrative duties in developing and carrying out support service functions within the Addie McBryde Rehabilitation Center. Incumbent works under the general supervision of the Maintenance and Grounds Manager.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Manages office: including but not limited to receptionist, correspondence, ordering supplies, scheduling appointments, organizing and assisting with trainings and meetings, personnel support, general accounting, maintenance of files and records, and approval of requisitions for payment of operating expenses;
Provides direct support services to the Maintenance and Grounds Manager by creating, editing and maintaining confidential files and reports;
Drafts and types correspondence;
Receives, reviews and distributes mail;
Maintains Manager’s calendar of events and itineraries;
Prepares and disseminates written and verbal information on projects/programs;
Operates computer and other office machines. Follows Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind fiscal policies, procedures, and best business practices to initiate, track, and monitor purchasing processes;
Assists AMRC Director in reviewing employees time and attendance;
Completes related duties as assigned.
