Position Overview
The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Infectious Diseases at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi is seeking a full‑time academic Pediatric Infectious Diseases specialist at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor to join our infectious diseases faculty group.
Responsibilities- Provide inpatient consultations and outpatient clinic care.
- Participate in educational development and training activities, including support for medical school classes, post‑graduates, and fellowships.
- Board certified or board eligible to practice pediatric infectious diseases.
- J1‑visa and H1‑visa holders are encouraged to apply.
The Department has over 170 faculty members and supports a medical school class of more than 150, post‑graduates in categorical pediatrics, medicine/pediatrics, child neurology, and other sub‑specialty fellowships. Children’s of Mississippi is the state’s referral center with 9,000 admissions per year, a 250‑bed hospital, a 32‑bed pediatric ICU, a Level IV NICU, and 80,000 outpatient visits annually.
LocationUniversity of Mississippi Medical Center and Children’s of Mississippi are located in Jackson, the state’s capital, with a temperate climate, affordable cost of living, and many indoor and outdoor activities within the metro area.
