The G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center, Jackson, MS is seeking a full-time Physician - (GI Section Chief), board certified or board eligible, to join our expanding clinical practice. We are fully committed to providing top quality medical care by serving and honoring America’s Veterans.
Candidate must possess MD/DO from an accredited institution, have completed residency training to board certification, and possess an active, current, unrestricted license in any U.S. State or territory.
Responsibilities- Administrative oversight of the Gastroenterology Section under Specialty Care to include, but not limited to, strategic planning and performance improvement, creating monthly daytime and after hours call schedules.
- Completing mid-year and annual proficiencies/evaluations for GI employees, and personnel actions as needed.
- Clinical duties may include completing inpatient and outpatient consults, review/disposition of clinical and care in the community consults, GI clinics to potentially include telehealth clinics, and performing all general GI endoscopic procedures and EUS/ERCP if trained/proficient in these advanced procedures.
- Board certification/eligibility in Gastroenterology is required.
- Board certification/eligibility in Internal Medicine preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of GI practice experience and at least 2 years of supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
- Proficiency in EUS, ERCP, and in reviewing and interpreting capsule endoscopies preferred.
- Board certification/eligibility in Gastroenterology is required.
- Board certification/eligibility in Internal Medicine preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of GI practice experience and at least 2 years of supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
- Proficiency in EUS, ERCP, and in reviewing and interpreting capsule endoscopies preferred.
- Potential starting base salary range: $300,000-$400,000
- Daily schedule: 80 hours total per two week pay period (Monday through Friday) and approximately 5 weeknights of call per month
- Paid Time Off: 50-55 days per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, and possible 5 days paid for CME)
- No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
