Sr VDC Coordinator – Jacobs
Position based at the Baton Rouge, Louisiana site. This on‑site role focuses on designing and providing technical leadership of wireless telecommunications systems for data center buildings, including Commercial DAS, Public Safety DAS, LMR, Site Radio, RoIP, Wi‑Fi and Tower Studies.
Base pay: $ – $ per year

- Participate in preliminary assessments and concept creation.
- Lead designs with support from peers, subject matter experts and BIM designers.
- Coordinate with BIM designers to produce drawing packages.
- Coordinate with AHJs, radio system owners and carriers.
- Create or modify specification 27 documents.
- Conduct site visits and review technical documents.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are completed on time.
- Technical or associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience actively designing wireless telecommunications systems for LMR (indoor and outdoor), Site Radio, RoIP, Public Safety DAS, Commercial DAS (OTA, Neutral Host, DRAN).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with iBwave, EDX, Atoll, LMR Planner or equivalent combinations.
- Experience working with clients to identify wireless communications needs.
- Experience troubleshooting field team issues and optimizing networks.
- Understanding of Noise Floor, SNIR, Return Loss, VSWR.
- Knowledge of NFPA 72, 1221 and 1225; IFC section 510;
Carrier KPIs; IBC; FCC parts 20 and 90; FCC OET bulletin 65; MOTOTRBO;
Motorola R56 installation standards; DMR Tier III. - Familiarity with Navisworks.
- Self‑motivation and excellent project‑management skills.
- Familiarity responding to RFPs and creating/maintaining budgets and schedules.
- iBwave Level 2 certification required.
- Experience designing Wi‑Fi systems.
- EDX or Motorola design certifications.
- FCC GROL certification.
- NICET Design certification.
- Multiple OEM product certifications.
- Electrical or Communications Engineering degree.
- EIT or PE.
