JOB SUMMARYCentral Design Engineering provides high‑quality, cost‑effective, on‑schedule I&C design services for the Entergy Nuclear Fleet. Central Design Engineering is responsible for providing requested modification packages to the Nuclear Fleet. I&C modification design control is maintained through effective configuration management of design output documents such as specifications, calculations, drawings, test requirements, and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Prepare cost-effective modifications as assigned to improve plant performance and reliability.
- Prepare engineering products consistent with defined standards, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to ensure the site’s design and licensing basis is maintained.
- Assist in the solutions to issues that impact safe, reliable operations and propose process changes that improve overall efficiency.
- Provide technical support to operations, maintenance, engineering, and other fleet organizations.
- Manage I&C engineering work assignments to ensure the design service provided is meeting department and organizational needs.
- Communicate to all levels of the organization, verbally and in writing, technical information, concepts, and ideas throughout the engineering product development.
- Attend training and maintain the qualifications necessary to perform the required group functions.
- Evaluate the effect of radiated emission for both electromagnetic and radio frequency emissions on plant equipment. Evaluate the susceptibility of plant components and devices to electromagnetic and radio frequency emissions.
- Implement configuration controls for electrical systems and components.

50.59 reviews, ensuring I&C electrical-specific considerations are applied. - Coordinate electrical design activities with plant simulator personnel to ensure effects are reflected accurately on the plant reference simulator.
- Evaluate the effects of plant design changes on simulator operation, fidelity, configuration and certification.
- Determine preventive maintenance requirements for systems and equipment.
- Test and validate systems and components.
- Develop system and component life cycle strategies and plans.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects.
Education: B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or another closely related scientific discipline or equivalent work experience defined as demonstrated success at the engineer/technical specialist level.
Experience:
- Engineer I: 0+ years
- Engineer II: 2+ years (1+ year with master’s degree)
- Engineer III: 4+ years (3+ years with PE/master’s degree)
- Engineer Senior: 6+ years (5+ years with PE/master’s degree)
- Engineer Senior Lead: 7+ years (6+ years with PE/master’s degree)
- Previous experience in Operations IT, Design or Systems engineering teams implementing engineering modifications.
- Proficiency in computer codes that support Nuclear Design such as ANSYS, ETAP, ME101, Pipe Flo, Math Cad, PDMS.
- Professional Engineering license and/or an SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR.
