Engineering Finance Manager, Aerospace Group
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Finance Manager for our Aerospace Group s position is based at one of the following locations:
Beachwood, OH;
Davenport, IA;
Irvine, CA;
Jackson, MI;
Jackson, MS;
Los Angeles, CA;
Orchard Park, NY;
Fort Worth, TX.
Salary: $124,000 – $182,000 per year, plus variable incentive program. Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and market considerations.
Job SummaryThe Engineering Finance Manager serves as a finance partner to the engineering organization, leading forecasting, profit planning, strategic planning, and project accounting. The role provides financial insights, ensures compliance, and champions finance transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement standardized labor and overhead rates, ensuring regulatory alignment.
- Coordinate and consolidate the 5‑year strategic plan, annual profit plan, and monthly forecast for engineering finance programs.
- Manage functional budgeting for engineering.
- Oversee all aspects of project accounting: project setup, revenue recognition, cost allocation, risk identification & mitigation, and Estimate‑at‑Completion reviews.
- Deliver financial insights to engineering and program managers by analyzing project spend and identifying risks and opportunities.
- Align group and divisional priorities for future investments and strategic planning across global engineering.
- Partner with engineering leaders to identify cost‑optimization opportunities that increase innovation investment without additional spend.
- Lead finance transformation initiatives to standardize processes and implement predictive analytics tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in aerospace or defense.
- Minimum 8 years of accounting/finance experience.
- U.S. person status required (citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
- Experience with export‑controlled information compliance.
- Must reside within 50 miles of one of the specified locations (military service exempt).
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
- At least 2 years of data analytics experience.
- Leadership and team‑management experience.
- Strong financial acumen and business‑partnering skills.
- Proficiency with ProPM, Oracle Time & Labor, and SAP CATS preferred.
- Able to communicate complex financial concepts to non‑financial stakeholders.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and self‑motivated.
- Capable of driving change across finance and operations.
- Strong problem‑solving and solution‑development skills.
