This individual will work as a financial auditor in the Division of Monitoring, conducting fiscal monitoring reviews of MDHS awarded Subgrant agreement to ensure financial and programmatic compliance/requirements. In this position, the individual will assist with preparing reports, conducting field work and present findings of reviews to supervisor. The individual will examine financial records and related documents to determine compliance with grant requirements and applicable State, Federal and agency guidelines/regulations and prepare detailed financial reports to support reviews.
This individual will identify and assess risks and opportunities related to potential transactions and must stay updated on industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.
What you'll need to be Successful
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Docu Sign and Smartsheet. Attention to detail, ability to prioritize workload, effective communication and time management skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills. The ability and desire to be a self-starter and follow through with assigned tasks within established time frames with a minimum amount of supervision. Understand generally accepted auditing standards, theory and practices. Strong analytical skills, ability to prioritize and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 0-2 years of experience. Agency preferred qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
