Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg
Location: Jackson, MS

Shift: Nights (7p–7a), 12-hour shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

Unit: Hematology/Oncology Med Surg (Oncology certification NOT required)

This is a high-acuity Med Surg opportunity within a Level 1 Trauma Center. The unit specializes in hematology/oncology patients and chemotherapy administration. Great opportunity for RNs interested in expanding skills—clinicians will be trained to administer chemotherapy if needed.

• Minimum 2 years of recent acute Med Surg experience

• Experience in high-acuity settings or Level 1 Trauma Center required

• Epic charting proficiency required

• Must be comfortable with lines, chest tubes

• Must be willing to float within Med Surg units as needed

• Certifications: BLS required

Licensure: Must have active RN license to submit

• Beds: 32

• Ratios: 1:5 typical, up to 1:6 depending on acuity

• Common patient types:
  Hem/Onc, chemo patients, post-surgical, high-acuity Med Surg

• Drips:
  Heparin, occasional Amiodarone start

• Telemetry:
  All patients monitored; central monitoring support

• Respiratory: CPAP/BiPAP with RT support

• Every other weekend

• Holiday rotation required

• No call

• Floating within Med Surg based on skill
