About the Assignment
Human Edge Health is seeking an experienced Travel Surgical Technologist to join a leading healthcare facility in Jackson, Mississippi. This position focuses on Cardiothoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery in an advanced, high-acuity setting. The ideal candidate will be proficient in complex cardiac procedures and comfortable working in a Level 1 or 2 Trauma or Teaching Hospital environment.

• Call Requirement: 1–2 nights per week, 1 weekend per month

• Charting System: Epic Systems Corporation – Epic Care Inpatient Certified EHR Suite)
Responsibilities
The Cardiovascular Operating Room Surgical Technician will:

• Perform duties as a surgical technologist across all service lines, with a primary focus on Cardiothoracic Surgery

• Assess, prepare, and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies

• Support the surgical team through sterile field setup, gowning, and gloving

• Anticipate surgeon needs and provide instruments and supplies efficiently

• Maintain sterile technique and perform accurate surgical counts

• Clean, prepare, and process instruments for sterilization

• Participate in room cleaning and turnover between cases
Experience & Requirements

•

Minimum Experience:

2 years as a Surgical Technologist

• Required

Certifications:

- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CST (Certified Surgical Technologist)

Preferred Experience:

- Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma or Teaching Hospital
- Complex cardiovascular and cardiothoracic procedures including heart transplant, valve replacements, CABG, and thoracic cases
