We are looking for a talented Senior Systems Programmer to join our team and take charge of installing, maintaining, and enhancing system software programs in our mainframe environment. Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, and maintain systems software programs to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
- Assist with the identification, evaluation, and customization of vendor-supplied systems software packages.
- Provide expert technical assistance and guidance to fellow systems programmers.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of hardware system components to support system performance.
- Review performance and utilization data to prepare capacity planning reports, ensuring systems have sufficient capacity to meet business needs.
- Design, implement, and execute the Business Recovery Plan, including conducting annual tests to ensure business continuity.
- Collaborate with the mainframe engineering team to install, configure, and update the mainframe environment.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
Experience- Minimum 10 years of experience in IBM mainframe O/S System Programming.
- DB2 systems programming experience in a mainframe environment is highly preferred.
- Hands‑on experience in Storage Administration.
- Expertise in IOCP/HCD Administration.
- Security Administration experience (specifically CA‑Top Secret) is a plus.
- In‑depth knowledge of IBM operating system utilities for problem determination and resolution.
- Experience with system and application problem determination and resolution.
- Familiarity with SMP/E to install operating systems and program products, as well as applying required maintenance.
- Proficiency in MS Office products.
- z/VM experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills to share insights and technical solutions with peers.
- Proactive approach to system performance monitoring and capacity planning.
