Senior Cobol Developer

We’re seeking a Sr. COBOL Developer with strong experience in mainframe environments and a solid background in EDI processing
. In this role, you'll analyze, develop, and support high-volume transaction systems, contributing to the ongoing stability and performance of mission‑critical applications. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams to design and implement solutions, support system enhancements, and ensure seamless data exchange—especially for claims and EDI‑related processes.

• Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
• Analyze existing systems and business requirements to support enhancements and troubleshoot issues.
• Manage and support EDI transaction flow, including file processing, mapping, and validation.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and change control processes.
• Create and maintain system documentation, technical specifications, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams to deliver solutions that meet business needs.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of COBOL development experience in a mainframe environment.
• Strong skills in JCL, CICS, and DB2 application development.
• Proven experience working with EDI in claims, healthcare, insurance, or other transaction‑heavy environments.
• Familiarity with MQ, Explore, and data reporting or file‑handling utilities.
• Solid understanding of SDLC methodologies and experience with change control tools.
• Strong troubleshooting, time‑management, and collaboration skills.
