Responsibilities
The Core Systems Engineer is responsible for performing analysis of new and existing Mainframe applications systems to understand the impact of proposed modifications, including input/output requirements, information flow, and software requirements. Also, the incumbent is responsible for designing and executing appropriate documentation, testing, debugging and support processes in accordance with departmental policy.
Job‑Specific RequirementsWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education
:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Five (5) years of experience in the IT industry
- Five (5) or more years of COBOL, CICS, and DB2 required
- Hands on experience with MFT Flows in Go Anywhere or another MFT (Sterling, Axway, MoveIT) platform
- Hands on experience with installation of MFT on Linux
- Knowledge of FTP, SSH FTP, and FTP over SSL
- Knowledge of PGP encryption concepts
- Cobol Dev on Mainframe (JCL, COBOL)
- z/OS mainframe experience
- Experience with C programming in Linux
- Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) – HIPAA X12 5010 (HIPPA ,)
Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate with customers, support personnel, application development personnel and management
- Ability to work in a team environment with multiple team members, as well as productively as an individual
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines with a strong attention to detail
