Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking an Assembly and Test Technician.
The hourly rate for this position is $22.40 + $1.00 shift differential. The shift hours are 3:30 pm - 12:00 am.
Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.
What you’ll do:Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and build non-Marine & Defense sub-assemblies, rotating group, pumps, and motors with close tolerances and critical operating requirements, ensuring precise fitting, alignment, and adjustment.
- Complete all quality and customer documentation accurately.
- Troubleshoot and repair REO and failed test stand pumps and motors to full operational status.
- Set up and operate assembly department test stands independently, maintaining standards. May operate multiple automated test stands.
- Interpret test procedures, read gauges, and transfer data to quality reports.
- Read hydraulic schematics, pressure gauges, strip recorders, and test stand plots. Interpret assembly and maintenance manuals as needed.
- Handle cleaning and packing operations for rotating groups.
- Use hand tools and measurement instruments like micrometers and calipers to verify assembly requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas to ensure high standards for assembly operations.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting in manufacturing, military, or aviation settings.
- Or an Associate degree in Precision Manufacturing and Machining Technology.
- Must be a U.S. person per ITAR regulations (U.S. citizen, Green Card holder, political asylee, or refugee).
- Reside within 50 miles of Eaton's Jackson, MS facility; no relocation benefits offered.
