The Assembler I is responsible for assembling various millwork products, preparing them for shipment, and ensuring high quality through inspection and maintenance.
Responsibilities- Assemble components of exterior and interior door units, including machining and/or assembling parts.
- Operate machinery (e.g., chop saws, table saws, rip saws, hand saws, routers, nail guns, screw guns, door machines) to modify products.
- Prepare finished products for shipment by applying casing, sleeves, labels, and other finishing touches.
- Inspect overall quality and accuracy of assembled products throughout the process.
- Repair and disassemble returned or defective millwork for resale or return to stock.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and machinery, including cleaning, oiling, calibrating, and noting larger repairs to a supervisor.
- Participate in all safety training meetings and comply with company safety policies.

- High School diploma or GED with 1–2 years of related experience or training; or equivalent education/experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions; write correspondence; present information in one‑on‑one or small group settings.
- Proficient in basic math; operating in weight, volume, and distance units.
- Problem‑solving skills with adaptable solutions for non‑standardized situations.
- Interpretation of written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions.
- Knowledge of branch and industry standards for identification, measurement, repair, replacement, and modification of products.
- Forklift certification may be required depending on branch.
