RJI Jackson Green Corps is designed to combat the lack of opportunities for family-sustaining employment among disconnected youth. Manufacturing, transportation, construction, utilities, and logistics are identified priority areas for workforce development in Mississippi with a large gap between available jobs and engaged workers. The program will recruit, train, and deploy 14 Ameri Corps members to engage in stormwater management, water quality monitoring, and environmental projects in partnership with organizations in the Jackson Community.

It will also contribute to green infrastructure projects to construct flood mitigation parks, community beautification, cleanup efforts, and rehabilitation of vacant and deteriorated properties in West Jackson, Mississippi.

Members will be trained and deployed to engage in stormwater management, water quality monitoring, environmental projects, disaster mitigation, flood mitigation parks, community beautification, cleanup efforts, and property rehabilitation.
