We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse to join our Gynecologic Oncology Team. This role involves providing clinical support to patients undergoing evaluation and treatment for gynecologic cancers, including pre-operative, post-operative, and surveillance care. The nurse will play a critical role in patient education, care coordination, and clinical triage, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing clinical functions with professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and administrative staff to ensure seamless, patient-centered care.
- Complete prior authorizations for surgeries, radiologic studies, and medications.
- Coordinate care across specialties and departments to support continuity and comprehensive treatment planning.
- Educate patients and their families about gynecologic cancers, treatment options, recovery expectations, and self-care strategies.
- Serve as a chaperone during gynecologic exams and assist providers with in-office procedures.
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program. - Experience:
Previous experience in women's health, gynecologic oncology, or outpatient clinic preferred, but not required. - Special
Skills:
Ability to recognize patients' individual needs based on medical conditions, age groups (adolescents, young adults, middle-aged, and geriatric), limitations, and planned procedures. Good judgment in patient care, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to function under stress are required. Must be willing to rotate shifts, days off, and work areas; occasional overtime may be required. Position involves monthly travel to outreach clinic in Starkville, MS.
