Site Quality Manager – Gray Construction Canada
Field/Project based position within Gray Construction’s Field Operations Team.
Responsibilities- Manage daily activities of the quality control program.
- Attend project pre‑construction meetings to discuss the QMS program and review Lessons Learned in the presence of subcontractors and manufacturers.
- Train team members in the use of the quality control program and support question resolution.
- Perform administrative set‑up of projects within the quality program database, assist in support and maintenance of the database program, and assist in implementing and auditing the effectiveness of the quality program.
- Ensure the quality program provides a fair and effective monitoring of the overall quality of the organization on a regular and timely basis.
- Accumulate data from the quality control program for company utilization (for marketing, training, and areas of improvement/best practices).
- Conduct jobsite inspections/audits to ensure that quality controls are in place and report findings to the Project Team and Leadership.
- Perform quality control inspections of installations as they are being put in place to ensure strict compliance and coordination with the contract documents.
- Work with the Service Team Manager for incorporating checklist items into the QMS system based on warranty callback items.
- Inspect products, materials, and equipment as they arrive at the jobsite to ensure compliance with the contract documents and approved submittals.
- Ensure manufacturer, fabricator and installer qualifications are current and applicable based on the contract requirements.
- Coordinate required sampling of work in a timely manner with sufficient time for testing and analyzing results to prevent delaying work.
- Coordinate and maintain jobsite test and inspection plan and subsequent logs ensuring all documentation is current including any changes to the work or design criteria.
- Create and maintain an approved Project Specific Quality Control Plan.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school and a minimum of five years of construction experience, or a minimum of seven years of related construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with in the light/heavy industrial sector highly desired.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Will be required to travel up to 100 % of the time.
- Visa sponsorship not available for this role.
Projects are scattered throughout the United States, and in some cases outside the U.S. The selected candidate may live anywhere in the USA but must travel to the project site according to Gray’s travel policy.
Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentThe duties of this position require frequent standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching with hands or arms, talking or hearing, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling or crouching, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision. The work environment is generally a normal office setting with moderate noise level and temperature/humidity control. Overtime may be required.
SupervisoryResponsibilities
This position will indirectly manage subcontractors and hold overall authority on quality for projects.
