What You Will DoThe Sales Floor Department Supervisor leads and enables a team of associates to deliver the best possible customer experience in the store. Responsibilities include targeting quality customer service, maintaining store cleanliness, safety and product availability. Duties cover customer-facing activities such as greeting customers, clarifying needs, identifying solutions, and closing sales, as well as non-customer-facing tasks like down stocking, inventory management, area recovery, conducting safety walks, reporting hazards, and ensuring compliance with safety and lifting procedures.
- Provide resources and tools to support associates in delivering excellent service.
- Assist with down stocking, area recovery, and give input into merchandising decisions.
- Monitor use of store power equipment and coach employees on safe behaviors and lifting techniques.
This role does not require regular travel; however, occasional travel to meetings, trainings, or to support neighboring stores/outlets may be necessary.
What We’re Looking For- Full‑time, hourly: typically 39–40 hours per week; additional hours may be required.
- Availability in the morning, afternoon, and evening on any day of the week.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for job duties.
- Minimum lifting capability of 25 pounds unaided; may lift over 25 pounds with or without assistance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of retail experience, or 5 years of retail experience.
- 1 year of customer‑service experience.
- 1 year of experience supporting the unique needs of Pro customers (for Pro Department Supervisor).
- Experience providing direction or supervision to teams (with or without direct report responsibility).
- Experience participating in training, mentoring, and development of associates.
- Experience working cross‑functionally.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to obtain sales‑related licensure or registration as required by law.
- 3 years of retail customer‑service experience.
- 3 years of experience supporting the unique needs of Pro customers.
- Leadership experience with direct report responsibility.
- Experience in the home‑improvement retail sector.
- Experience in a fast‑paced, dynamic retail environment.
- Experience in a key‑carrying role with manager‑on‑duty responsibilities.
- Experience using store computer systems (e.g., Project Tool, Genesis, Sterling, M2O, Thin Client).
