Whatdoes a Termite Technician do?
Termite Technicians use their expertise to protect customers' properties from wood‑destroying organisms. As the first line of defense, you conduct inspections, prevention, and treatment services that provide peace of mind and comfort for our customers.
Responsibilities- Identify customer’s termite problems and apply knowledge of termite behaviors and habits to determine remedial steps.
- Perform termite treatment services safely and according to company guidelines and standard practices.
- Apply anti‑termite treatments to structures according to schedule, safety procedures and label instructions.
- Communicate to the customer critical conditions conducive to termite activity, discuss procedures and structural modifications, which may be supplemental to the treatment process.
- Verify that job specifications are appropriate for each work order.
- Operate and maintain service vehicles and equipment.
- Complete production forms documenting services provided.
- Interact with customers and explain services provided.
- Tolerate a variety of environmental conditions, including seasonal weather, damp and/or dusty locations.
- Prepare the job site for treatment.
- Enter and exit structures and crawl spaces; climb over and on top of structures; ascend and descend stairs and ladders.
- Comfortable working 20 feet up on a ladder and in small confined spaces.
- General laborer, carpentry, cement, roofing, gutter and attic experience is plus.
- Ability to work on roofs and high areas.
- Perform regular moving, including sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, up and down stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as an OSHA‑compliant respirator and regularly work in confined spaces and narrow aisles.
- Clean shaven face for safety reasons (rebreathers must seal your face).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license from state of residence (company vehicle and gas card provided).
- At least 1 year of customer service experience; experience in termite control is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Flexibility to work Monday‑Friday and Saturdays as needed.
- Licenses/certificates required by federal, state, and/or local regulations (covered by us).
- Basic math skills—add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
