Stribling Equipment, LLC is proud to be one of the largest John Deere dealerships in Mississippi, West Tennessee, and Arkansas. We sell and service new and used construction, compaction, forestry, and concrete equipment, backed by rental options, training programs, and a full range of parts and service support.

We’re seeking a motivated Shop Technician I for a full-time, shop-based role. This position is designed for candidates who have completed diesel or heavy equipment technical training or gained relevant hands‑on service experience and are ready to develop their skills alongside experienced technicians.

• Perform routine preventive maintenance, lubrication, fluid and filter changes, and basic equipment inspections following service instructions.
• Assist experienced technicians with diesel engine, hydraulic, hydrostatic, electrical, powertrain, and undercarriage service and repairs.
• Use required hand tools and basic measuring instruments safely; assist with removal and installation of smaller components such as pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, starters, and alternators under appropriate guidance.
• Help identify wear, leaks, damage, and service needs, and communicate findings to the supervising technician.
• Use John Deere parts information and PMPro for basic parts ordering tasks and navigate Service Advisor for service information as trained.
• Prepare accurate service reports and post labor time, parts, and supplies to work orders.
• Assist with safe use of chains, slings, hoists, floor jacks, and equipment blocking in accordance with training and shop procedures.
• Maintain tools and a clean, organized work area; complete assigned John Deere DLM classes and technical training.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Completion of a diesel technology, heavy equipment technology, or closely related technical training program OR qualifying hands‑on diesel or heavy equipment service experience required. Applicants must have relevant training or practical experience.
• Candidates with up to 2 years of related hands‑on experience are encouraged to apply. Prior paid technician experience is not required for applicants who have completed qualifying technical training.
• Foundational understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical service practices.
• Ability to use basic hand tools, follow technical instructions, and document service work accurately.
• John Deere equipment experience, technical training, or certifications are a plus.
• Ability to safely operate and test heavy equipment within the scope of assigned duties, training, and authorization.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets company driving standards.
• Basic computer skills for electronic work orders, parts information, and web‑based training.
• Must provide personal hand tools appropriate for assigned service work.
• Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for required technical training.
