Volunteer Mountain Host

Snow King Mountain Resort is the iconic Mountain Resort located in the heart of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. As a dual seasonal facility, it is home to many summer and winter family-friendly attractions. The Snow King Team is looking for people with a love for the outdoors, a desire to learn, and a commitment to excellent service. This volunteer position has benefits available to those who commit to volunteering for at least 20 days during the winter recreational season.

Hosts will provide positive contact between guests and Snow King Mountain Resort. Hosts will work from the base areas (Gondola and Rafferty area) and at various on-mountain stations to greet, inform and guide guests to services and facilities. Working on snow requires considerable physical skills and awareness. Staff working on snow and/or skiing will need a snow skills assessment annually and equipment testing before starting on-snow work.

Snow King Mountain Resort has an on-duty helmet policy for employees that are required to ski or ride for their job. Hosts may also be asked to work various on-mountain events throughout the season.

• Provide the first point of upbeat, friendly, and welcoming contact between Snow King Mountain Resort and guests
• Greet skiers, riders, and groups
• Be a source of information regarding all mountain operations, facilities, activities, schedules, trends, and conditions.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, split shifts, occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to work in inclement weather regularly for long periods.
• Distribute informational materials as needed
• Work at areas of the resort as assigned
• Accomplish tasks in the absence of constant supervision
• Anticipate and resolve guests’ needs
• Knowledge of the resort's emergency operating plans and procedures
• Provide tours for guests around the mountain venue and facilities
• Assist all other mountain departments as needed to help improve the delivery of services

• Prior experience in customer service is preferred
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Answer any questions to the best of your ability
• Additional language is a plus
• Being able to ski/ride at an intermediate or expert level is preferred but not required.
• Able to work as part of a team and collaborate accordingly
• Good problem-solving skills
• Friendly and outgoing personality; tactful and appropriate
