Aerobics Instructor

November 7, 2024 - The Aerobics Instructor is responsible for accurately recording attendance for both virtual and live classes, submitting these records monthly to the Fitness Center Director. Each session begins with an introduction of the instructor and the class type, incorporates regular pulse and water breaks, and adapts the pace for newcomers. This position ensures disruptions are minimized by only changing music during designated breaks and demonstrating all movements accurately to maintain the flow and effectiveness of the class.

Job Summary:

• Provide at least 3-5 classes with a focus on cardiovascular exercise.
• Provide at least 3-5 classes focusing on total body conditioning and strength.
• Provide at least 2-5 classes focusing on flexibility such as yoga/Pilates.
• Provide at least the following classes:
  Indoor Cycling (live class), Cardio Kickboxing, Total Body Conditioning and Step.
• Provide primary instructor certifications and the required specialty certifications for Indoor Cycling, Cardio Kickboxing and Step.
• Provide at least 2 Yoga/Pilates classes.
• Provide the specialty certifications for Yoga/Pilates.
• All set-up and clean-up shall be accomplished by the contractor.
• Ensure all equipment is returned to its proper storage place at the end of each live class.
• Notify the Fitness Center Director anytime a class must be canceled.

Job Summary:

• Recording attendance for each class on a form designated by the contractor and approved by the Fitness Center Director.
• Attendance for virtual classes must be recorded and all virtual and live class attendance sheets must be turned in monthly to the Fitness Center Director.
• Expectations of all class instructors when they are conducting a class.
• Begin each class by introducing themselves and the type of class.
• Take at least two pulse breaks and at least one water break during each class taught.
• Instructors shall only change music during ideal times, such as pulse breaks or water breaks.
• Instructors shall not change music during inconvenient times when the class will be disrupted, such as in the middle of exercising.
• Properly demonstrate all types of steps and moves
• Adjust the pace of the class for first-time students.

Job Summary:

• Clock-in / clock-out and sign-off training sessions using our software
• Continuously monitor and assist members
• Ensure the proper form is used when performing exercises during training sessions
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance
• Deliver pre-designed and custom programming for clients
• Lead and motivate clients safely throughout training sessions
• Practice what preach. Live a lifestyle similar to the way want clients to live theirs
• Modify specific exercises to accommodate various skill levels and/or physical ailments
• Stretch out students prior to class and immediately after cooling down.
