Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support accurate and timely payment operations for our team in Tennessee. This role focuses on reviewing invoices, organizing vendor records, and helping maintain dependable financial processes through careful attention to detail. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with high volumes of transactions, communicates effectively with vendors, and takes pride in delivering consistent administrative and accounting support.

Responsibilities:

- Review incoming vendor invoices, verify supporting details, and assign the appropriate coding before processing for payment.

- Prepare and coordinate routine payment runs to ensure approved invoices are paid within established timelines.

- Maintain organized and up-to-date vendor files, including account details, documentation, and payment records.

- Respond to vendor questions and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies through clear and timely communication.

- Reconcile invoice information against purchase documentation and internal records to support accuracy in accounts payable activity.

- Monitor outstanding items, follow up on approvals when needed, and help keep the payment workflow moving efficiently.

- Assist with recordkeeping and reporting tasks related to accounts payable transactions and vendor account activity. Requirements - Experience supporting accounts payable functions in a finance or administrative environment.

- Ability to code invoices accurately and process a steady volume of vendor billing transactions.

- Familiarity with preparing check runs and managing payment schedules.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing financial documents and entering data.

- Experience maintaining vendor files and handling vendor-related inquiries professionally.

- Effective communication and customer service skills for working with internal teams and external contacts.

- Proficiency with basic accounting systems and standard office software tools.
