Plant Laborer; Dickerson & Bowen

Dickerson & Bowen - Paving the way for growth and development since 1947 D&B is a leading provider of aggregates, asphalt and asphalt paving services in central and southern Mississippi. D&B operates four asphalt plants and two active sand and gravel plants and is a natural extension to our recently established Southeast platform, further strengthening our vertically integrated footprint.

Performs any combination of following tasks, such as repairing, cleaning, maintaining, washing, and loading.

• Daily housekeeping at plant site and tool rooms.
• Lifts, carries, and holds materials, tools, and supplies.
• Cleans tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
• Visually inspect equipment and inform of repairs needed.
• Performs a variety of routine, non-machine tasks, such as repairing material leaks, repairing/replacing belts, preventive maintenance, greasing, and cleaning.
• Adhere to all safety expectations and guidelines.

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience. Must have valid Driver’s License.

Workers should be able to:
Follow specific directions. Perform a variety of duties which may often change; work within standards of accuracy. Repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure. Evaluate information using measurable standards.

• Stand or walk for long periods.
• Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
• Lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds.
• Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects and carry tools and equipment.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, and see (naturally or with correction).
