The Student Success Coordinator is a full‑time, twelve‑month professional position responsible for advancing institutional retention, persistence, and student success outcomes through data‑informed advising support, early alert interventions, and strategic academic success programming. As a key member of the Lane Institute, this role serves as a central connector between academic advising, predictive analytics, academic support services, and co‑curricular engagement efforts across Lane College.
The Student Success Coordinator leads the coordination and execution of Lane’s retention and early alert framework, leveraging predictive analytics within Blackboard (LMS), the Student Information System (SIS), and other institutional platforms to identify students at risk and implement timely, targeted interventions. This role requires strong analytical capacity, operational follow‑through, and the ability to translate student data into actionable outreach, communication strategies, and programmatic responses.
In partnership with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Career Services, Enrollment Management, and Athletics, the Student Success Coordinator supports guided pathways, academic recovery, and co‑curricular engagement initiatives that promote student momentum from entry through completion. The Coordinator also plays a critical role in institutional reporting and decision‑making by generating, analyzing, and disseminating student success data to inform continuous improvement efforts.
- Serve as a key operational lead for Lane College’s retention and early alert system, supporting proactive identification and intervention for students at academic or engagement risk.
- Monitor student performance, attendance, engagement, and predictive risk indicators using Blackboard analytics, SIS dashboards, and institutional reporting tools.
- Develop and execute direct student communications (email, LMS messaging, outreach campaigns) related to early alerts, academic standing, intervention requirements, and success milestones.
- Coordinate follow‑up and case tracking to ensure interventions are implemented, documented, and assessed for effectiveness.
- Collaborate with academic advisors, success coaches, and faculty to support individualized academic success and recovery plans for students.
- Leverage predictive analytics and student success technologies to identify trends, risk patterns, and opportunities for intervention across student populations.
- Generate routine and ad‑hoc reports related to retention, persistence, course completion, academic standing, and program participation to support institutional decision‑making.
- Maintain accurate, FERPA‑compliant data records related to early alerts, interventions, academic support utilization, and student outcomes.
- Support Lane Institute, Academic Affairs, and institutional committees with data analysis and reporting for retention initiatives, accreditation, and strategic planning.
- Coordinate with advising teams (Success Circles) to support guided pathways and student success plans for students across the 0–60 credit hour range.
- Oversee and support academic support services, including tutoring, study halls, supplemental labs, and developmental workshops, ensuring alignment with identified student needs.
- Provide targeted academic coaching and intervention support for students on academic warning, probation, or recovery plans.
- Facilitate individual and group sessions, including instruction of AVS 101 — Academic Success and LCC 112 — First‑Year Enrichment Seminar (up to nine credit hours per term, as assigned).
