Quality Engineer Lead - Automotive Manufacturing (Onsite) (35313)

A global automotive parts manufacturer is seeking a Quality Engineer
Lead to support their Quality Control and Product Control Departments in the Jackson, TN area. The ideal candidate will handle product quality inspections and administrative tasks. Prior experience in the automotive manufacturing industry is a plus. This is a full-time, direct hire position with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, and 401(k) matching.
- Create documentation for the production line while maintaining quality control standards
- Process customer orders and forward required paperwork to clients
- Communicate with customers in a timely manner and respond to inquiries
- Assist with scheduling for the Production Control department
- Prepare Monthly Supplier Quality Report
- Keep the database updated regarding material quality test results, process capability, and scheduling of the production line
- Prepare Bill of Lading for each shipment, track back orders, and file the relevant documents, including electronic documents
- Ensure accuracy of cycle count and purchase orders that are created and started along the approval process
- Communicate and collaborate with management, production workers, and suppliers
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or combination of education and experience
- Minimum 1-5 years' experience (including internships, co-ops, etc.) in Quality Engineering preferred
- Knowledge of ISO 9000, 9001, and other relevant standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing
- Ability to work independently
- Physical requirements:
may intermittently sit, stand, walk; lift up to 20 pounds, lift in excess of 20 pounds with a lift assist; climb stairs; use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist; talk and hear. May require close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
