- Serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager on the engineering development of urban and rural highway/roadway/right of way projects
- Support roadway designs and plan development in accordance to guidelines, standards, and specifications
- Oversee the work of CAD Designers, and possibly other EITs
- Prepare detailed engineering designs for roadway and highway projects
- Collaborate with Right of Way and preconstruction staff
- Participate in activities ranging from site feasibility analysis to final design and through the construction phase
- Assume some project management duties and interact with clients as needed
- Perform other duties as needed
- Reading and interpreting roadway and Right Of Way plans
- Experience working with TDOT
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
- Proficient with Micro Station and/or AutoCAD, familiarity and demonstrated experience with Highways and Roads engineering software such as Bentley Concept Station and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d
- Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar field
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must
