A TDOT Project Manager is the single point of responsibility for managing the scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, and delivery of projects for TDOT. They have the authority and accountability to manage federal and state requirements and facilitate collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. The role is entry‑level and directly responsible for delivering projects from concept to completion with a low to moderate degree of risk.
Responsibilities- Lead multidisciplinary Project Teams as part of a matrix organization for projects with a low to moderate risk to the Department. Implement the project vision in accordance with the scope, schedule, and budget.
- Assist in developing Consultant Acquisition Plans, procurement documents, and serve on selection committees.
- Manage resources and external partners, develop contract scopes, negotiate contracts, and review consultant invoicing.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules and budgets. Use project management tools to achieve milestones.
- Coordinate with other disciplines within TDOT to mitigate constructability and maintenance concerns, manage change, and maintain documentation.
- Partner with other functional areas to prioritize goals, identify trade‑offs, and coordinate innovation efforts.
- Implement TDOT's Quality Assurance Process and coordinate QA/QC tasks with the Project Team.
