Disciplined Operations Leader – Georgia‑Pacific LLC, Jackson, TN

This position supports the dynamic team at the new Dixie Products Operations Plant in Jackson, TN. The role involves mentoring and coaching talent, driving organizational efficiency, and sustaining results within our manufacturing operation.

What You Will Do
  • Collaborate with Operations Leadership and site teams to identify strategic opportunities and implement proven operating practices across core work streams:
    • Management Systems
    • Organization
    • Production
    • Asset Care
  • Partner with department leaders, performance coaches, and employees to:
    • Enhance training programs
    • Foster a culture of mutual support and success
    • Build organizational capabilities
  • Drive substantial, measurable improvements on prioritized initiatives within defined timelines
  • Communicate effectively across all organizational levels to align stakeholders on financial, operational, and risk mitigation goals related to initiatives
  • Utilize continuous improvement tools and operational discipline to advance project goals
  • Manage project controls including scope, resources, schedules, and performance metrics
  • Consult with manufacturing sites and corporate resources to enable sustainable transition of initiatives to base operations
  • Implement and coach the use of Lean Manufacturing Systems (e.g., Georgia‑Pacific’s Playbook) to continuously assess organizational health and validate results through a structured, repetitive process
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment with operational and/or supervisory responsibilities
  • Proven track record of driving manufacturing change or operational discipline improvements against targeted initiatives
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to lead peers and team members across organizational levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data collection and analysis
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Business Management, or related field
  • Operational experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience managing change management or transformation initiatives
  • Certification in Continuous Improvement (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience in pulp, paper, and/or tissue converting manufacturing environments
