American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a night shift position requiring at least 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
Details- Medical Surgical Oncology unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Uses Epic EMR
- Required to float to other Med Surg/Telemetry units
- Active RN license (Compact or TN) required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Epic EMR experience within the last 18 months required, including documentation of where it was used
- Must pass Epic competency exam with only one attempt allowed
- Two supervisory references required
- Skilled in oncology nursing including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management preferred
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring preferred
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration preferred
- Experience with wound care and isolation precautions/PPE preferred
- Candidates requiring respirator fit testing must be clean-shaven
- Provide direct patient care to medical surgical oncology patients including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
- Support rapid response and code team activities as needed
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
