Summary

The Teller II will be responsible for daily teller transactions in both the lobby and drive‑up locations of the branch. This position also delivers outstanding customer service and develops client relationships by recognizing referral opportunities for additional Retail products and other lines of business.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provides customer account services by receiving deposits and loan payments, cashing checks, issuing savings withdrawals, recording night and mail deposits, and selling cashier's checks, traveler's checks, and savings bonds.
  • Answers customer questions in person and/or on the telephone.
  • Records customer account transactions, prepares currency transaction reports, and logs cashier and traveler's checks.
  • Cross‑sells bank products by informing customers of new services, assessing needs, and directing them to a branch representative.
  • Completes special customer requests including closing accounts, taking orders for checks, opening and closing Christmas and vacation clubs, exchanging foreign currencies, and providing special statements, copies, and referrals.
  • Completes safe‑deposit box procedures and reconciles the cash drawer, maintaining accurate cash and currency supplies.
  • Participates in dual‑control functions, maintains customer traffic surveys, audits teller currency, and assists in certification of proof.
  • Maintains confidentiality and safeguards bank operations by protecting sensitive information and alerting others to potential breaches.
  • Improves teller job knowledge by attending training sessions and contributing to customer service excellence.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a cash handling role required.
  • Excellent mathematical aptitude and strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive confidential information.
  • Knowledge of banking products and customer service procedures.
Physical Demands and Working Environment
  • Dexterity of hands/fingers to operate computer keyboard and mouse – Frequently.
  • Lifting – Occasionally (up to 10 lbs).
  • Sitting – Frequently.
  • Overtime – Subject to business need.
  • Noise level – Moderate.
  • Typical work hours – M‑F (8‑5). Regular attendance required.
  • Minimum physical strength and dexterity to perform routine teller duties.
